Let me tell you about one of those products that quietly became a bestseller in my shop without me doing much to push it. The Fadvan Y Shape False Eyelash Extensions, the YY style, in brown and black. I've had lash artists buy a tray, come back two weeks later, and buy four more. That's usually my sign that something is worth writing about properly, so here we are. First, the build. These are synthetic PBT fibers — the same class of material used in just about every quality lash tray on the market, so no surprises there. What matters more is how they're put together. Each "Y" is actually two fine strands fused at the base into a single stem, which is what gives the lash its name. The fusion point is clean on the trays I've inspected. No globs, no stray fibers sticking out sideways, no weak joints that snap when you pick them up. The fiber itself has a soft, matte finish rather than that shiny plastic look cheaper lashes sometimes have, and it holds a curl well straight out of the box. I've bent a few between my fingers to test springiness, and they return to shape instead of crimping. For a tray at this price point, that's genuinely better than I expected the first time I stocked them. Now the specs, because lash people want exact numbers. You're getting 0.07mm thickness, which is the sweet spot for this style — thin enough to stay light, thick enough to actually show up. The YY shape means each pick-up gives you two tips from one base, so a full set builds faster than with classic singles. Curls available are C, D, L, LU, and L+, and you can choose brown or black. That curl range covers a lot of ground. C and D are your standard everyday and drama curls. L and L+ are the straight-base curls that lift from the lash line outward, which is what you want for that fox eye mapping where the outer corner stretches long and flat. LU sits in between, a gentler lift that a lot of my clients prefer for a more natural open-eye look. The SKU for this listing is P3256802208028551, in case you need to find it in the store quickly. So what do people actually do with these? Three real scenarios I see constantly. First, the working professional who wants a soft, fluttery look that doesn't scream "I got my lashes done." Brown in a C or LU curl at maybe 9 to 11mm does that beautifully — it reads as mascara-plus on camera and holds up through a full workday. Second, the fox eye crowd. If you've been chasing that lifted, elongated outer corner, this shape was practically designed for it. Map L+ or L curls on the outer third, drop down to C or D toward the inner corner, and the eye pulls outward and up. It's the look people screenshot from Instagram, and YY lashes make it achievable without doubling your application time. Third, the volume client who wants density without weight. Because each Y gives two tips, you get a fuller effect with fewer attachments, which means less strain on natural lashes over a three-week fill cycle. That last point matters more than most people realize. Using them is straightforward if you already do extensions. Isolate a natural lash, dip the Y base in adhesive, place, hold, done. The one adjustment for beginners is that you're working with a slightly wider base than a classic single, so your isolation needs to be clean — if two natural lashes are stuck together, this shape will expose it. For maintenance, treat them like any extension set: keep them dry for the first 24 to 48 hours, brush them gently with a clean spoolie each morning, avoid oil-based makeup removers near the lash line, and sleep on your back or on a silk pillowcase if you can manage it. As for the tray itself, keep it closed and store it somewhere out of direct sunlight. Heat is the enemy of curl. I keep mine in a drawer, and I've had trays stay springy for months. Now the honest part. Pros: the price is hard to argue with at 13.19, the curl selection is wide, the brown is a proper warm brown and not that odd orangey tone some brands pass off, and the Y construction genuinely speeds up application once you're used to it. Cons: this is a 0.07mm fiber, so if you're used to working with 0.05 for ultra-fine volume fans, it will feel slightly heavier in the hand. Also, because two strands share one base, you have less freedom to customize fan width the way you would with loose volume lashes — this is a shaped product, not a build-your-own. And if you're a total beginner who's never placed an extension, this isn't the tray I'd start you on. Learn isolation first, then come back. Here's why the design works, from someone who's watched a lot of lash artists work. A classic single lash gives you one tip per attachment. A handmade fan gives you many, but costs time and skill. The Y sits in the middle — two tips, one dip, one placement. That's an efficiency play, and efficiency is what separates artists who finish a set in ninety minutes from those who take three hours. The slightly wider base also spreads weight across more of the natural lash rather than focusing stress on a single point, which helps retention and reduces the chance of premature shedding. Who does it suit best? Working artists doing volume or hybrid sets on a schedule, anyone doing fox eye or cat eye mappings regularly, and beauty lovers who've learned to do their own extensions at home and want a shortcut that still looks refined. It's less suited to artists doing ultra-custom mega-volume work where every fan is bespoke. If that sounds like you, the tray's right there. Grab a C and an L+ in brown to start — you'll get a feel for the range fast.
