The Five-Piece Mystery Bag: An Honest Look at the Makeup Lucky Bag I've been running this shop long enough to know exactly what happens when I put a mystery bag on the shelf. Half of you get curious, the other half get suspicious, and both reactions are completely fair. No tricks, no manufactured exclusivity, just a mixed bag that I've seen make people very happy and occasionally a little confused. Let's start with what these items are actually made of, since that's where cheap makeup usually falls apart. The eyeshadows here are pressed powders, talc and mica based with the usual binders, set into plastic compacts with a hinged lid. The eyebrow products are either pencils with a wooden or plastic barrel or a small powder compact depending on what gets pulled. Build quality is what I'd call "decent for the price tier." These aren't luxury weight compacts with magnetic closures and heavy metal casings. They're light, plastic, honestly a bit clicky when you close them. But the seams hold, the hinges don't snap after a week, and the product doesn't crumble out of the pan. I've had a few arrive with the powder slightly loose in the pan — it happens with shipping — but nothing has ever shown up broken open. varten
