D2 Men Jeans: The Black Slim Pencil Cut With Holes and Metal Hardware So we got a shipment of these D2 men's jeans in last month, and I've been watching them move ever since. Some stuff sits on the shelf and you wonder why you ordered it. This one didn't sit. Guys kept picking it up, turning it over, checking the buttons, and then buying it. That tells you something before I even get into the details. It's a black slim pencil cut with intentional distressing and metal hardware, and it's priced at 90.06, which for what you're getting is honestly reasonable. Let me break down exactly what this pair is, who it's for, and where it falls short, because no pair of jeans is perfect and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. Let me start with the materials and build, because that's what you actually feel when you put them on. The denim is a mid-weight cotton blend with just enough stretch to make the slim cut wearable all day. Not the thin, flimsy stuff you see at that price point sometimes, and not raw heavy denim that needs six months of breaking in either. The weave has a tight, dense handfeel, and the black dye is deep and even across the panels, which matters because cheap black denim goes gray at the knees within a month. The distressing is done by hand at the factory, so the holes and frayed edges are placed consistently but not identically, and there's reinforcing stitching around the rips so they don't blow out after three wears. The metal buttons are solid, heavier than they look, with a nice matte finish rather than that shiny chrome look that screams costume. Stitching across the seams is double-rowed at the stress points. This is a pair built to be worn, not photographed once and retired. Now the exact specs, because I know people want numbers. This is a slim pencil fit, meaning it hugs the thigh and tapers down to a narrow ankle opening, roughly fifteen centimeters across at the hem. The rise sits mid, around twenty-six centimeters from crotch to waistband. Sizes run US 28 through 38, which translates to Italian 44 through 54, so if you know your IT sizing you're set. If you're a US 32, you want the IT 48, and so on. The colorway is the black denim with the distressed detailing you see in the photos. The SKU for this exact pair is P3256806801253477, so if you call us or message us about it, give that number and we'll know exactly what you mean. The front closure is the metal button fly, which is a nice vintage touch, and there are the usual five pockets plus the small coin pocket. Where does a pair like this actually get worn? Three places, mostly. First, nights out. Bars, dinner, a party where you want to look like you made an effort without looking like you're trying too hard. Black jeans with holes and metal buttons do that job better than almost anything else in a closet. Second, gigs and casual weekends around town. Pair them with a plain tee and boots and you're done in thirty seconds. Third, and this surprises people, smart-casual Friday at work if your office is on the relaxed side. Swap the tee for a button-down and a blazer and the distressing reads as deliberate, not sloppy. I've had customers buy them specifically for a birthday party, and another guy grabbed two pairs because he wears one for going out and one for everyday. How to use and maintain them, since this is where people ruin good denim. Wash them inside out in cold water, and do it sparingly, maybe every eight to ten wears unless something actually spills. Hot water and the dryer fade black denim fast and shrink the stretch. Skip the dryer entirely and hang them to dry in the shade. The holes will fray a bit more over time, and that's normal and honestly part of the look, but don't throw them in a machine with towels or anything with a zipper or velcro because it'll snag the distressed edges and pull them out of shape. Iron on low if you must, and never directly on the metal buttons. Wait until they're damp and press from the inside. If you see a loose thread near a rip, snip it rather than pull it. The pros and cons, honestly. Pros: the fit is genuinely flattering on slim and average builds, the hardware feels expensive, the distressing holds up, and the black stays black if you follow the care instructions. At 90.06, you're paying mid-tier prices for something that feels like it came from a higher shelf. Cons: this is a slim pencil cut, so if you have heavy thighs or prefer room in the leg, you'll want to size up or skip this style entirely. The stretch helps but it doesn't transform the cut. The distressing is decorative and the holes don't breathe much in summer. And black denim draws lint and pet hair, which you'll be rolling off with a lint brush, that's the trade-off. One more thing, sizing down is a mistake most guys make once. Don't. Here's the part where I put my shop-owner hat on and explain why this design actually works. The slim pencil silhouette paired with heavy metal hardware and controlled distressing is a deliberate balance. A plain black skinny jean looks flat. A heavily ripped distressed pair looks like a costume. This one hits the middle, which is the hardest spot to get right. The metal buttons add visual weight at the waist, pulling the eye up, while the tapered leg keeps the lower half lean, so it reads taller. The hand-placed rips create texture without swallowing the leg. This cut suits slim-to-average guys who want a nightlife and weekend piece rather than a workhorse every-day jean, and it suits someone building a look around texture and hardware rather than color.
